UHCA Community Meetings

Meetings are simulcast on Zoom here and recordings posted afterwards below. Zoom attendees will be able to watch live and “chat” questions. Unfortunately, we are not able to have fully interactive meetings due to technology limitations at this time.

UHCA Community Meetings are our monthly chance to gather together as neighbors and learn about issues that affect our neighborhood. We feature guest speakers updating on events at the library, UHCA events, elected officials, and more. Special guests are also invited to speak on topical issues that pertain to University Heights. Our meetings take place in the Alice Birney Elementary School auditorium which is located along Campus at the intersection of Meade. We look forward to seeing you there!

The rain tempered turn-out for our March meeting, but nearly 20 folks braved the wet weather to hear updates about how we are re-working Zone Watch to make it more responsive and focused. After UHCA updates, SDFD representatives talked about fire safety and what we can do to be more prepared and handle potential wildfires in our neighborhood. Apologies for not having the Zoom link posted sooner, we will keep that at the top of our web page moving forward (it will always be the same).

40+ people attended in person with another 10+ via the Zoom simulcast. Officers Harris and Adamek kicked off the CrimeWatch section, followed by UHCA updates and a presentation about the early history of UH by University Heights Historical Society President Kristin Harms. This meeting was simulcast on Zoom and recorded (bear with us as we work to improve the process, this is our first time doing this in a few years and we know we have some kinks to work out!).

December 2024 Community Meeting & Holiday Mixer- Wednesday December 4 at Serpentine Cider - 5-7pm

November 2024 Community Meeting - Thursday November 7 6:45pm in the Birney Elementary Auditorium (Campus @ Meade).

30+ people attended where Officer Surwillo covered holiday crime prevention strategies, we took a stroll down memory lane with Kevin Whaley, designer of the UH Trolley Sign, along with two long-time families who talked about the many changes they’ve seen in UH over the past decades.

October 2024 Community Meeting

Over 110 people attended and 90 eligible members voted in the biennial UHCA meeting which elected new officers.
