February Meeting: Focus on Local Businesses & UH Branch Library

What do American Voodoo, Twiggs, Lafayette Hotel, Bourbon Street, Original Skin and Body Care, and other local businesses have in common with Valentine’s Day and our soon-to-be 100-year-old library? We love them!

At our February 6th meeting, these local businesses (and possibly more) will be talking about what they do for Valentine’s Day and why they do it to commemorate the holiday.

Some businesses will be bringing goods to share. Gift cards from each business will also be raffled off to those in attendance. (Lestat’s cannot attend but is donating a gift card.) The funds raised by the raffle will be matched by UHCA and a donation made to the UH Library branch. Librarian Kim Schmidt will briefly speak about April’s 100th birthday celebration at the end of the meeting when winners of the raffle are announced.

So, step up to the plate and show some love for our local businesses and library. After all, we were the first library to have a Park Boulevard address!

Note: UHCA monthly meetings are now held at 6:45 pm so there is no conflict with the children’s program in the Birney auditorium.
