If you’re looking for a way to honor our veterans on Tuesday, here are a few activities that you might consider.
San Diego will be having its annual Veterans Day parade starting downtown at 11 am. This year’s focus will be A Tribute to Veterans of Afghanistan & Iraq Wars. For more information visit http://www.sdvetparade.org/.
Participate in The Veterans History Project, a nationwide effort run in coordination with the Library of Congress to collect personal accounts of American war veterans in order to provide a way for future generations to hear and learn about some of the most significant events in American history from the very men and women who were a part of, and helped shape, them. The project is being coordinated in San Diego by the office of Congressman Scott Peters, and more information can be found on his website at http://scottpeters.house.gov/veteranshistoryproject.
Honor our UH veterans by taking a neighborhood flag walk. All flags lining Park Blvd & Madison Ave in University Heights will be dedicated to a local UH veteran. You can see the map of flags on Veterans Day at 4416 Park Blvd to find the flags representing your friends and neighbors.
